
Celebrating its 11th season as the Conservatory's resident jazz faculty sextet, We Six presents their 2012-2013 concert series, featuring their signature straight-ahead style.
With continued funding from the Eric D. Batterman Memorial Grant, We Six welcomes Grammy Award winning Brian Lynch on trumpet and Alex Hoffman on tenor saxophone May 2, 2013.
All concerts are held in the Helen Bader Recital Hall at 1584 North Prospect Avenue.

Indestructible: The Music of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers

This concert pays tribute to a seminal jazz group that defined the hard bop sound. Led by drumming legend Blakey, the band featured a shifting roster of some of the greatest names in jazz composition, such as Bobby Timmons, Benny Golson, Wayne Shorter, and Cedar Walton, launching many of the genre's most memorable tunes.

Ties of Love: The Music of Buddy Montgomery
