Individual Instruction
The Wisconsin Conservatory of Music is committed to tailoring our students’ instruction to their individual needs, interests, abilities and learning styles. Your instructor will carefully work with you and help guide you to achieve your goals at a pace that is appropriate for you. The Conservatory provides an atmosphere where you or your child can grow and learn in a non-competitive environment.
As we strive to make the best possible connection between teacher and student, the easiest way for you to sign up for individual instruction is to talk to us first. Our faculty members teach according to a semester schedule of 15, 16 or 17 weeks. The summer semester ranges from 4-8 weeks. Lessons can be 30, 45 or 60 minutes in length and are approximately $30-$32 per half hour. Our instructors have varying schedules, are available Monday-Friday all day and evening and on Saturday. Payment is required in order for us to register you for lessons and arrange a day and time. You may do this over the phone with a credit card, or mail or drop off a check or cash at our Prospect Avenue location
How It Works
- Once you decide it’s time for you or your child to take music lessons: Call us at 414/276-5760.
- Our Student Services staff expertly handles each new student individually matching the student with one of the Conservatory’s 93 degree-holding faculty who is appropriate for the student’s level, learning style and musical area of interest.
- For beginning students we recommend weekly 30-minute lessons which are approximately $30-$32 per session. 45 or 60-minute lessons are recommended for intermediate and advanced students. Teachers work on a semester basis. New students can enroll at any time, space permitting.
- Once you are registered and have paid for your lessons, your instructor will contact you to arrange for dates and time.
Please Note: Because the process of matching each student with the right teacher is highly personalized, online registration for Individual Instruction is not available.
