Guitar Department
Our guitar department was established in 1956 and offers instruction on a variety of diverse instruments in the guitar family. Whatever preference you have in style, shape or size, acoustic or electric, we can provide quality instruction to you.
What We Offer:
- Faculty members are premiere performers as well as dedicated and accomplished educators
- A wide range of styles including classical, jazz, blues, fingerstyle, flamenco, rock, and bluegrass
- Baroque Guitar, Vihuela, Lute, Mandolin and Banjo instruction is also available
- Customized individual instruction based on age, level and learning
- Group classes for children (including Suzuki), teens and adults
- Ensemble opportunities
- State of the art equipment
- Master classes are regularly offered to students and have included the L.A. Guitar Quartet, Ben Verdery, Michael Hedges, Lawrence Juber, Troy Stetina and Joe Bonamossa
