Wisconsin Conservatory of Music
Tuition
Assistance Program
2007-08 Academic Year
The Wisconsin Conservatory of Music is pleased to be able to offer a tuition assistance program for those individuals and families who may need financial support in their pursuit of music education. Tuition assistance funds are from our generous donors and the amount fluctuates from year to year. We are most grateful to all the donors who make it possible for us to offer this program.
Tuition assistance is available to current students as well as new students wishing to enroll at the
Conservatory. As funds are limited, awards will be based on the federal guidelines for low-income status.
Assistance awards of not more than 50% of the cost of tuition will be granted. Assistance is granted for two semesters, fall and spring. Payment plans for the remaining tuition are available, however, if falltuition is not paid in full, spring financial assistance will be denied.
Current students: your teacher will be contacted to confirm your commitment to learning and
attendance.
New students: Please write a paragraph about your musical goals and how you think the Conservatory can help you achieve those goals.
Requirements: The attached tuition assistance application must be completed and returned to the
Conservatory by August 10, 2007. Notification of tuition assistance will be mailed to students by August 25, 2006.
You will need:
• A photocopy of your most recently completed federal tax return (Form 1040)
If you were not required to file taxes or your income has significantly changed since December 31, 2005, you may submit one of the following proofs of income:
• Pay stubs for three months (most recent – May, June and July)
• Social Security: Annual Payment Summary, Benefit Statement OR Award Letter
• Supplementary Security Income Award Letter or Notice of Change in Payment
• W-2 Agency Award Letter or Notification of Benefits
For your reference, the following guidelines will be used to determine tuition assistance allocations. In addition, you may include a statement that qualifies your income level, such as unusual medical expenses, recent period of unemployment, etc. An income that exceeds these levels does not necessarily exclude you from receiving tuition assistance.
