Why did you choose to work at WCM?

I've just moved from Missouri to Milwaukee to work on my Masters in Vocal Performance. I fell in love with music in the choir classroom, to start, though, and wanted to keep working in that environment. I get excited every time I think about standing on a podium and making music with students that wouldn't otherwise have it in their curriculum.

Describe a musical experience or teacher that had a positive impact on you.

My middle school choir teacher; he was the kind of guy that cruised lunch detentions and boring assemblies to find recruit students into his program. He spent the extra hours trying to build a substantial choir in an underfunded school. He just so happened to pull me out of an assembly one day. I remember how it went exactly: he didn't ask me if I wanted to be in choir or if I could sing, only to sing "doo" on a random head voice note. I matched the pitch and started in the Advanced Treble Chorus that next week.
