A Little About Us
Wisconsin Conservatory of Music
The Wisconsin Conservatory of Music is the largest non-profit community music school in the state. Founded in 1899, the Conservatory provides musical experiences to students from age four months through senior citizen, to all levels of abilities, working to develop creative, artistic, and whole individuals.
The Conservatory annually reaches over 16,000 individuals across southeast Wisconsin through individual lessons, classes, festivals, camps, concerts, fundraising events, and our community music education program Conservatory Connections.

Staff Positions
Choral and General Music Coordinator
The Choral and General Music Coordinator will play a critical role in professional development leadership, curriculum development, and faculty mentorship. Through the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music Community Partnership program, faculty artists provide classroom instruction settings to more than 10,000 students weekly in public, private, independent, and charter schools. The General Music Coordinator will be a primary point of contact for faculty artists; connecting them to resources, encouraging best practices, and providing direct and supportive feedback for instructional improvement and refinement. In May of 2024, the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music announced the merger of the Milwaukee Children’s Choir (MCC). As MCC moves beyond its 30th Anniversary Year, this position will be critical in supporting and facilitating this program.
Professional Qualifications:
- Ability to effectively communicate, model, and align with the Conservatory’s mission of Inspiring individuals and communities through excellent music education accessible to all, and Values of Excellence, Inclusion, Empathy, and Integrity.
- 4-6 years of experience in music education, with proven effectiveness in classroom and/or choral music instruction.
- Experience in mentoring and professional development leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree required.

Director of Marketing
The Director of Marketing is the senior position in the marketing department. The position leads and sets strategy for all digital and traditional marketing functions, including website content, email marketing, social media, video content, promotional materials, fundraising collateral, and supporting meeting or exceeding enrollment and fundraising goals and building awareness about WCM to current and potential students, families, donors, alums, and volunteers.
Professional Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of marketing leadership and strategy development, including responsibility for customer identification and conversion, project management, and budget responsibility, preferably in arts, education, or related industry.
- Extensive experience with social media and email marketing tools such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X.
- Experience in marketing content strategy implementation, sophisticated editorial calendars, and other content management tools.
- Embrace WCM’s values of Excellence, Inclusion, Empathy, and Integrity, and maintain the brand message and image throughout all marketing efforts. Work closely with WCM staff to ensure the brand message is consistent throughout all materials.
- Recommend and develop new strategies and tools to meet or exceed enrollment and fundraising goals and to build organizational awareness.
- Develop and execute effective lead-generation campaigns to increase enrollment—measure and report performance against goals (ROI, HVTs, and KPIs).
