Public Transportation

Milwaukee’s new “The Hop” streetcar line makes a stop near the corner of Prospect and Ogden Avenues, and is free for its first year of operation. There are also bus lines located near our location as well.

History of The Mansion

Mansion
1903

The mansion was built on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, serving as the home of Robert C. Spenser, founder of Spencerian Business College.

1932

The mansion was leased to the Wisconsin College of Music free of charge.

1948

The Wisconsin College of Music purchased the building for $50,000.

1985

The mansion was declared a historic landmark by the City of Milwaukee Common Council, following a recommendation by the Milwaukee Historic Preservation Commission.
