The Edgar Knecht Trio presents Colours of Europe, a project celebrating the cultural diversity of Europe through a unique blend of jazz, classical, and folk tradition,
on Monday, June 8 in the Helen Bader Recital Hall.
Led by pianist Edgar Knecht, the trio reimagines traditional folk songs from across Europe—including France, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Germany—into expressive ballads and rhythmically dynamic arrangements.
This performance is part of a cultural exchange marking 50 years of partnership between the state of Hessen, Germany and the state of Wisconsin. As part of this anniversary, the trio is touring the region to highlight international collaboration through music.
