Why did you choose to work at WCM?

WCM's reputation and teacher support system were greatly appealing to me and continue to be a blessing. Thinking about their mission, that students of various skill levels and backgrounds make WCM a musical home makes for exciting work as a teacher. Since I've been on faculty, I've also grown to deeply appreciate the opportunities to learn from and collaborate with my colleagues. It's a pretty cool place!

Describe a musical experience or teacher that had a positive impact on you.

One of my dearest musical memories is the summer in high school when I acted in "Newsies" in Beaver Dam, WI. That cast and team taught me so much--how wonderful music-making can be, how much fun musical theatre is, and how to support your peers. It's plum delightful to be a part of bringing that same joy to others through my work at WCM. Whether it's musical theatre, songwriting, opera, or art song, there's such a rich opportunity for delight and growth when studying music.
