Today is Valentine’s Day! On this day of love, we asked a few of our friends, “What do you love about music?” Here’s what they had to say…
I love music because it exhilarates and nourishes the body, mind and soul simultaneously.
Because it is a way to show my emotions and is something to enjoy with others.
My favorite style of music is improvisational rock. My favorite band is Phish. I love all kinds of music for the emotion and creativity involved in creating it but additionally for the emotional impact it has on me. Music makes me happy, sad, angry and invokes many other emotions and there are few things in life that can have that kind of impact.
It is a way to express myself and help people learn life skills, like discipline.
Music moves the soul, challenges the intellect and pulls us all together.
I love to play in piano recitals, dance to songs like “Into the Unknown” with my sister, and make up singing and dance performances with my friends for a show at the Washington Island Music Festival.
