WCM Announces 2026 Summer Music Camp Dates
The Wisconsin Conservatory of Music is pleased to announce the official dates for its 2026 Summer Music Camps, offering a wide range of engaging, educational programs for students (and adult learners!) throughout the summer months. Designed for musicians at every stage of development, these camps provide opportunities to explore new skills, deepen musical understanding, and collaborate with peers in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Registration for all summer camps opens on February 1, and families are encouraged to plan ahead as space in many programs is limited. With offerings spanning multiple musical disciplines and age groups, the Conservatory’s summer camps continue a longstanding tradition of high-quality music education in Milwaukee and beyond.
2026 Summer Music Camps
Music Exploration Camp – At our Music Exploration Camps, children entering grades 2 – 6 will meet new friends while learning about music- by making music! Campers will sing, drum, and play ukulele every day- AND have an opportunity to meet instruments through performances from our amazing Conservatory faculty. No prior experience is needed, but enthusiasm for music and fun is absolutely required! On the last day of our week together, it will be the campers’ turn to take the stage and perform in a final showcase that will be open for all to attend!

Milwaukee Children’s Choir Camp
The MCC Summer Camp is a fantastic opportunity for students to continue to engage with this wonderful program, or for interested students to meet some of the faculty, and have a wonderful choral experience specifically designed for young singers! Choral singing is a wonderful way to build musicianship skills and experience performing in an ensemble. Students will spend the camp singing- and work with one of the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music percussion faculty members to build their rhythm skills! The Camp will end with a showcase of their learning, held in WCM’s beautiful Bader Recital Hall.

Jazz Camp
Join us for WCM’s annual JAZZ CAMP! Students will experience a variety of ensemble playing (small group + large ensemble) as well as additional classes including theory, beginning to advanced improvisation, history, listening, performance techniques and composition. A performance will be held on the final day of camp showcasing all combos; this is open to the public, and families are encouraged to attend!

Adult Jazz Camp
Beginner, intermediate, and advanced adult jazz students will enjoy a 3-day schedule focused on combo performance and improvisation. This camp includes 3 rehearsal and improvisation sessions culminating in a performance during the Friday Jazz Camp showcase on July 10.

Piano Camp
Are you a school-aged piano student looking for a unique musical experience with fellow pianists? At WCM’s Piano Camp, students will have the opportunity to listen to and collaborate with faculty and other students, attend specialized piano classes, explore piano chamber music, and perform in a showcase recital at the end of the week. Students will receive 1 to 2 individual private lessons with expert Conservatory piano faculty and explore a wide range of topics including sight-reading and sight-singing, transposition, jazz piano and improvisation, preparing and memorizing repertoire, collaborative piano, chamber music, and special topics in piano history.

Percussion Camp
Immerse yourself in a diverse percussion experience this summer at WCM! Build on your technique in snare drum, drum set, and mallet classes – focusing on rhythmic and melodic theory. Discover a new palette of captivating sounds as you experience small and large chamber percussion ensembles coached by WCM teaching artists. During afternoon rotations, students will explore world percussion styles from all around the globe taught by guest artists in the Milwaukee community. Percussion camp will conclude with a Friday afternoon showcase for family and friends.

Chamber Music Camp
Perform as a member of a trio, quartet, or quintet- and create friendships through music! String and piano students will receive coaching, take master classes, and explore a variety of electives that help develop the musical skills needed for fun and engaging chamber music experiences! Chamber Music Camp concludes with a Friday afternoon showcase for family and friends.

Visit us at the 2026 Camp Fair
Families are invited to connect with the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music at the MKE With Kids Camp Fair 2026, the largest summer camp expo for Milwaukee-area families. This annual event brings together dozens of day camps and overnight programs from across Wisconsin, the Midwest, and Canada, making it an excellent opportunity to explore summer options all in one place.
Conservatory staff will be on site to share details about our 2026 Summer Music Camps, answer questions about age groups, programs, and registration, and help families determine which camp experiences may be the best fit for their students.
