Originally from La Crosse and received his bachelor's in music composition from UW-Eau Claire in 2022. Sam studied jazz piano with Christine Hitt, Adi Yeshaya, Jesse Stacken and Jake Sherman, and has performed with musicians such as Gunhild Carling, Sean “Smitty” Smith and Carl Allen.
While in Eau Claire, he performed with Uncommon Denominator, voted #1 BEST COVER BAND in Volume One Magazine’s “Best Of The Chippewa Valley” Reader’s Poll for over four consecutive years, and since relocating to Milwaukee in 2025 has performed regularly with the Pocket Kings, 2023 WAMI winner for Best R&B/Funk Band.
