Fourth of July Concerts & Livestreams

the philadelphia orchestra

Join the Philadelphia Orchestra on Thursday, July 2, at 7:00 PM for the Let Freedom Ring Fourth of July celebration, featuring pieces by John Philip Sousa, Valerie Coleman, Leonard Bernstein, Claude Debussy, Carlos Surinach, and Elton John! The recording will be available online for 9 days after it airs.

 

Chesapeake orchestra

The Chesapeake Orchestra and the St. Mary’s College of Maryland are coming together for the next installment of the virtual summer music series, “A Traditional 4th in an Unconventional Way!” The livestream, airing on Friday, July 3 at 6:00 pm CST, will feature jazz artist Hilary Kole performing from New York City, the Southern Maryland Community Gospel Choir, Chesapeake Orchestra Brass, Bryan Bourne, trombone; fire trucks in “Hosedown,” Ballet Caliente, and a special presentation of fireworks.

Boston Pops players, the Boston Symphony and the Middlesex Country Volunteer Fifes and Drums will celebrate our everyday heroes with the Salute to Our Heroes    livestream event, featuring newly-created recorded music, videos of previously recorded performances and a pre-recorded fireworks display! Tune in to Bloomberg Live Stream TV on July 4th at 7:00pm CST to catch the show.

The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra has gathered all of their Songs of America segments and made them available on demand, with links to notes about why these songs were selected, and how they represent the important voices in American music.

milwaukee symphony orchestra

The MSO has launched a new weekly streaming program, Musical Journeys, which will feature new episodes every Friday afternoon for you to enjoy on demand, on any audio-enabled device.

Hosted by Music Director Ken-David Masur and featuring interviews with Milwaukee Symphony musicians, these recordings are hand-curated by Maestro Masur from the orchestra’s extensive audio archive.

 

Philadelphia symphony orchestra

The Philadelphia Orchestra and Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin performed BeethovenNOW: Symphonies 5 & 6 concert to an empty Verizon Hall for live broadcast on Thursday, March 12 on Facebook Live, making the performance available online. You can also experience the Philadelphia Orchestra On Demand.

The musicians of the Seattle Symphony have generously volunteered to share free broadcasts with everyone during this time of uncertainty. All broadcasts can be streamed through the Symphony’s social media channels on YouTube and Facebook.

Opera

The Met’s series of free opera streams, “Nightly Met Opera Streams” start at 7:30 pm ET, and will begin with Bizet’s Carmen, conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin and starring Elīna Garanča and Robert Alagna. Due to unprecedented demand and web traffic, we recommend you access the stream through the Met Opera on Demand apps for Apple, Amazon, and Roku devices and Samsung Smart TV. The performances will remain available for 20 hours.
